On March 24, 2010 the Personal Journal Section of The Wall Street Journal carried an article entitled Rejected! It documented how Warren Buffett (Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.) Meredith Vieira (Today show co-host) and Harold Varmus (Nobel laureate in medicine) were all rejected by Harvard. Entrepreneur Ted Turner was rejected by Princeton as well as Harvard.
Each said that to be rejected by the school of their dreams was personally devastating at the time. However, they may have been rejected, but they refused to see themselves as a REJECT! For each one, a brilliant light dawned as they pursued other educational opportunities.
If you missed it, read the article and apply it to your own life. When you are rejected by a person or your ideas are rejected by a team, overcome rejection by telling yourself that you are not a reject and move on!
